Ivan Zoratti

Ivan Zoratti, CTO - SkySQL

With 25 years of experience in computer science and IT, Ivan started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, following his passion for the kernel of the PdP 11 machines, RSX and later with VAX/VMS Macro programming. Entrepreneur since 1988, he set up and managed several IT startups in Europe. He has been an independent journalist and author of technical books for 15 years. Since the early 90s, Ivan has been Chief Technical Architect and Chief Technical Officer for non IT companies in sectors like telco, manufacturing and retail.

Ivan joined MySQL in 2005 and led the European Pre-Sales team for the Software Infrastructure Group at Sun Microsystems. At SkySQL, he is responsible for the vision of the company and the evolution of new database solutions and services.

A native of Italy, Ivan has lived in Windsor, UK since 2000.

Johan Andersson

Johan Andersson - Founder/CTO, Severalnines

Johan works for Severalnines, a company focused on building fast, scalable, and highly available solutions. Prior to Severalnines, Johan was working at Ericsson/MySQL/Sun/Oracle and was the Principal Consultant and lead of the Cluster consulting group.

Kaj Arnö

Kaj Arnö, EVP Products - SkySQL

Kaj joined MySQL AB in 2001 after 14 years as an entrepreneur. His first position was VP Training, launching MySQL AB’s training department. Since then, Kaj has been VP Professional Services, VP Services, and VP Engineering at MySQL, before assuming his last pure-MySQL role of VP Community Relations in 2005. With MySQL AB being acquired by Sun and then Oracle, Kaj has decided to give into his entrepreneurial urges once again and joins SkySQL as EVP Products.

Michael "Monty" Widenius, CEO and VP Community - Monty Program

Monty has worked on the MySQL/MariaDB codebase since 1981. At least 60% of the MySQL code is still his. He is a MySQL Fellow and is the founder and CEO of Monty Program Ab and the creator of MariaDB.

Moshe Shadmon -Founder & CTO, ScaleDB Inc.

Moshe Shadmon is the founder and CTO of ScaleDB. Moshe has more than 20 years of experience in technical and management roles in companies developing database related products. Moshe’s technical experience has been in the areas of database clustering, high performance indexing solutions as well as the development of a unified solution for structured and semi-structured data. Since 2006, Moshe has become increasingly interested in the opportunity presented by the open source databases and founded ScaleDB to develop a database engine for MySQL targeting performance, efficiency and scalability with large data sets.

Robert Hodges

Robert Hodges - CEO, Continuent

Robert Hodges, CEO of Continuent, brings over three decades of experience in DBMS and application engineering. Prior to Continuent, he was a Senior Engineering Manager at Sybase, where he worked on RDBMS products and transactional messaging. He also held senior engineering positions at Portera and Exigen group, where he managed and operated software-as-a-service applications. Robert is the original designer of Continuent's Tungsten product and implemented substantial parts of the Tungsten Replicator.

Sheeri K. Cabral

Sheeri K. Cabral - DBA, Mozilla Foundation

Sheeri K. Cabral has a master's degree in computer science specializing in databases from Brandeis University and a background in systems administration. Unstoppable as a volunteer and activist since age 14, Cabral founded and organizes the Boston, Massachusetts, USA, MySQL User Group and is the creator and co-host of OurSQLCast: The MySQL Database Community Podcast, available on iTunes. She was the first MySQL Oracle ACE Director, and is the founder (and current treasurer) of Technocation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization providing resources and educational grants for IT professionals. She wrote the MySQL Administrator's Bible and has been a technical editor for high-profile O'Reilly books such as High Performance MySQL 2nd Edition and CJ Date's SQL and Relational Theory.

Ulf Sandberg

Ulf Sandberg, CEO - SkySQL

Ulf is a 25-year veteran of high pressure Silicon Valley start-ups with already impressive exit events behind him. He played a critical role during his 5 years as Vice President and Senior Vice President of Global Services at MySQL in helping it grow from start-up to successful $1B acquisition by Sun Microsystems. Before joining MySQL, Sandberg was Vice President of professional services at Finaplex, an enterprise software company in the global financial services market. Prior to that he was Vice President, field services at Marimba which went through a high profile IPO in 1999 before being acquired by BMC. Earlier in his career, Sandberg held a number of engineering management positions in U.S. and European companies. He received his MSEE from Lunds Institute of Technology, Sweden and resides in Silicon Valley, California.

Yoshinori is a database engineer at Facebook, living in Tokyo. Before joining Facebook, Yoshinori's primary responsibility at DeNA was to make their database infrastructure more reliable, faster and more scalable. Before joining DeNA, Yoshinori worked at MySQL/Sun/Oracle as a lead consultant in APAC for four years. Yoshinori has written eight MySQL related technical books so far and has published technical articles about MySQL, Linux, and Java for a monthly database magazine since 2004.
