Automating master failover and non-stop master switch with "MHA for MySQL"In this talk Yoshinori will introduce MySQL master failover tool: MHA. By using MHA, when master is down, one of the new slaves will automatically become new master, and other slaves will automatically replicate from the new master. Consistency issues (in case of the master crash, relay log states on slaves might be different each other) will automatically be fixed, and you can install MHA on existing MySQL replication environments without stopping MySQL. He'll explain the details of MHA, and how to use it.

Migrating to ScaleDB - From a single database instance to a cluster of integrated database and storage nodes on the cloudA cluster comprises multiple interconnected computers or servers that appear as if they are one server to end users and applications. ScaleDB enables you to cluster MySQL/ MariaDB instances so they operate as a single system. The ScaleDB cluster provides a pool of database nodes and a pool of storage nodes that allow transparent scaling of the database tier and the storage tier. It provides High Availability as the data is mirrored to multiple storage nodes. Using ScaleDB eliminates the need to partition the data and maintain slaves and as such, ScaleDB is ideal for private and public clouds. This talk will demonstrate and explain the technology, architecture and the use cases of ScaleDB in the cloud.

Complex multi-master solutions made easy with TungstenTungsten has broken new ground how to make previously complex or completely unattainable solutions very simple and easy to deploy. Tungsten Replicator offers improvements in replication topologies and performance, using technologies that were either unknown or not used together within MySQL marketplace. Tungsten Replicator's architecture makes creating complex topologies, such as multi-master, really easy and allows for outstanding performance using parallel replication and pre-fetching. Tungsten Replicator is an open source solution, licensed under GPL v2. Tungsten Enterprise has brought data management to a new level. Users of this technology can deal with their clusters as if they were a single server, thanks to the transparent connectivity that makes the transition from a single server to a cluster a really easy task. For multi-master and multi-site deployments, an automatic fail-over between single hosts and automated fail-over between sites are also at the users' fingertips. This talk covers some of the key technologies, Tungsten Replicator and Tungsten Enterprise, combined with a few compelling demos.

Introduction to Sphinx for MySQL/MariaDB UsersThis presentation will provide an overview of the basics when it comes to the Sphinx Search engine, touching on both the how and where it's best implemented in terms of the application/database (MariaDB) architecture. Then we will launch into a little deeper discussion of the differences between Database (MariaDB/MySQL/Postgres/etc) Full-Text/Non-Full-Text search and Sphinx. This will ultimately lead to real-world examples of where it is advantageous to utilize Sphinx for your Search needs. Finally we will highlight what is next for Sphinx and why this important to you in terms of our forthcoming 3.0 release series.

Using MySQL as a NoSQL datastore - New Features in MySQL Cluster 7.2 GAMySQL Cluster is already proven as a write-scalable, real-time transactional database with inbuilt high availability. Based on a shared-nothing architecture, the database scales horizontally on commodity hardware to serve read and write intensive workloads. However, with MySQL’s JOIN algorithms has traditionally not been suited to the distributed nature of data in MySQL Cluster, and SQL join performance has been a weak spot for MySQL Cluster. The upcoming 7.2 version is a key milestone for MySQL Cluster. With the introduction of Adaptive Query Localization, performance of complex JOIN operations is improved by 20x. Other new exciting features include a Memcached API for MySQL Cluster. This talk guides you around the latest features in the upcoming 7.2 version.
