Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

A Senior Software Engineer is required to join our distributed engineering team working on technologies around the area of data storage and cloud deployment. Development will be based around the MySQL and other SQL databases. Competitive salary and stock options.

Job Description

Successful candidates should expect to work individual to code and test components of a broader system for data management with a cloud environment. Individual will be expected to be self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve high quality results. Ideally candidates should be able to show experience in the development of high quality, enterprise ready software in a client server environment. Software development will mainly involve C programming, but other languages may be involved. Knowledge of software testing techniques and automated test harnesses would be an advantage.

Experience

We are looking for C/C++ experience, ideally with experience with database server and web server internals.

The candidate should be willing to work on both Open Source and Commercial applications.

• 7+ years track record in enterprise system development
• Use of C, C++, Java as an advantage
• Understand and have worked with database servers such as transaction management, lock management, index access, buffer management, recovery, etc. are a plus
• QA and testing as an advantage

Requirements

• C programming
• Knowledge of Linux, Apache and MySQL Servers
• Development of high performance, scalable systems
• Development of multithreaded environments
• Knowledge of HTTP and network protocols, XML, JSON is an advantage
• Server based application development

Education

• MS/BS/PhD in CS, EE or other relevant technical degree
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Location

The candidate must be located in territory and able and willing to work from home.
