Patrik joined SkySQL in 2012 after having built up to SaaS/hosting businesses first with Nokia Networks and later with F-Secure in Finland where he also ran Professional Services. In both roles, the performance constraints of various database management systems especially in cloud and multi tenant contexts were an inspiration to join SkySQL. Patrik has a long background with Nokia where he held various management positions in mobile phone product development, strategy and innovation. He also worked several years in management consulting with McKinsey & Company in their Paris and Helsinki offices. Patrik has a MSc degree in Technology Management from Helsinki University of Technology as well as an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Kenneth joined SkySQL in 2013 from NSN where he was Head of Finance & Control, Business Development (unit responsible for all non-operator business areas such as transport, utilities, government and enterprises). He spent over a decade with Nokia Corporation and later NSN working in various roles within Venturing, Structured Finance, Strategic Change and M&A.
Kenneth has a M. Sc. (Eng) from Helsinki University of Technology and currently resides in London with his wife and two children.
Roger Levy is a Technology Executive with international expertise, extensive engineering and business leadership experience and a proven track record of growing businesses (organically and via M&A), transforming organizations and fostering innovation in the areas of data networking, security, enterprise software, cloud computing and mobile communications solutions resulting in on time, high quality and cost effective products and services.
Dion Cornett, most recently VP Sales Strategy at Red Hat, brings impeccable open source credentials to his new role as VP Global Sales at SkySQL. Dion spent the last nine years at Red Hat, including as VP North American Sales, as well as building up Red Hat’s ISV, Embedded and System Integrator businesses. He was earlier VP Investor Relations at Red Hat. Dion leads the continued growth of SkySQL sales and will expand the Company’s routes to market.
Rasmus has been VP of Engineering for SkySQL since 2013 and the merger of SkySQL and MariaDB. Prior to the merger he functioned as Chief Operating Officer for Monty Program Ab since 2010. He has earlier worked in various IT project positions for Microsoft, WM-data, Icon Medialabs and Finnair.
Steven Grandchamp is a serial software entrepeneur and lives at the intersection of business and technology. Steven excels at identifying business issues and customer needs and building products and businesses around solving those needs. Steven has served in executive roles in 4 successful startups and at Microsoft. He has helped build, grow and sell 4 successful software companies, 2 as the Chief Technology Officer and 2 and the Chief Executive Officer. Steven has also been a developer, program manager, sales leader and a product manager. Steven has been in many different vertical markets and employed many business models in different situations.
Magnus joined MySQL in 2003 after 15 years in leading Sales and Management positions with Digital Equipment, Cognos, Informix and Precise Biometrics. Magnus went on to lead the MySQL sales in Nordic, Benelux and Israel for Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Many large and strategic business contracts were managed by Magnus at MySQL, and he made his MySQL sales team the most sucessful region during multiple years at MySQL AB.
A native of Sweden living near Uppsala, Magnus joins SkySQL as Vice President Sales EMEA.
Michael joined MySQL in 2003 after 10 years as an entrepreneur. He initially lead sales in France and then went on to lead the MySQL® sales efforts in Southern Europe for Sun and very briefly Oracle before leaving in the summer of 2010
A native of northern England, Michael received his BSc from Bordeaux University and due to a weakness for fine wines and cheeses has never achieved escape velocity from France in the 20 years since he graduated.
Dean was hired by the original MySQL AB corporation as a support engineer and developer in 2003, after some years of providing MySQL-related help to the community via the freenode IRC network. He began using MySQL in 1999 while working as a software developer and DBA, eventually deploying MySQL for web and enterprise applications alongside Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Lucene.
He moved into management and took over responsibility for the global support organization after MySQL AB was acquired by Sun Microsystems, retaining that role after Oracle Corporation acquired Sun. Dean left Oracle to join SkySQL in 2010, with the goal of creating a new and better home for support customers and engineers.
Dean now leads the global SkySQL Support organization from Nashville, Tennessee.
Prior to joining MySQL early 2002 Boel was CEO and co-founder of a consulting company, mainly focused on organizational development. Boel managed global Human Resources throughout her tenure at MySQL, with the company growing from 30 employees to 425. After the acquisition by Sun Microsystems Boel stayed with Sun as a Sr. HR Business Partner until joining SkySQL in 2010.
Boel lives in Uppsala, Sweden, and holds a Certificate in Law from the University of Uppsala.
Max joined MySQL in 2001 starting as a consultant and instructor. He went on to create the MySQL training program and manage the curriculum for MySQL AB and later for Sun. Prior to joining MySQL Max did some business development work at an innovation company for mobile technology.
A native of Finland, Max received his M.Sc (Eng) in Physics and Maths from Helsinki University of Technology. Max is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tom has been working for high growth, B2B technology start-ups for about ten years, most recently with a focus on enterprise systems management, virtualization and the Cloud.
Before joining SkySQL in 2013 Tom ran the marketing team at Opsview, a global IT monitoring vendor, where he developed global marketing programs covering brand management, digital marketing, social marketing, product strategy and pricing, events and corporate communications. He was also responsible for building an end-to-end sales and marketing automation platform using Drupal, Loopfuse lead scoring and email nurturing and Salesforce. Launched in 2011, his platform was presented at Cloudforce Reading 2012 and reviewed by MarketingSherpa.
Based in London, Tom holds a Masters degree from the University of Kent.
